BIG AOR HISTORY

At the age of 50 i finally realize my big dream: having my own radio station that plays the music I’ve always loved: 80’s melodic rock with big guitars, keyboards, powerful drummings and huge production.

I  remember growing up during the eighties listening to AFRTS radio most of the time, fascinated by American rock bands and those great music played by that US radio. My fave program at the time was the evening  show "Off  the record" hosted by Mary Turner (from Klos), one hour of the greatest album rock songs from that era.

Those were also the years where big hair bands like Crue and Ratt to cite a few hit big and I started also my own band try to emulate those bands and having lots of fun too (but who didn’t have fun in that decade?).  When I traveled for the first time to California in 1990 and than in 1992, i was always listening to the great one and only Pirate Radio Kqlz,  another great inspiration.

My music knowledge and research in the following years found a great companion in the Joel Whitburn book "Album Rock Tracks 1981/1995" and Big Aor playlist is mainly based on that book.

In fact I got great inspiration from both Mary Turner and Scott Shannon Kqlz in building the Big Aor playlist with a constant look and checking at the  JW book.

Big Aor plays quite every songs that reach Billboard top 40 Album rock chart and other songs that I think would have deserved too. Furthermore some great album rock tracks from the nineties and most recent release from classic rock bands are added.

So tune in and enjoy the music trip in the eighties!
